On August 13, the European Food Safety Authority re-evaluated the safety of sodium starch succinate octenyl 1450 (E) as a food additive in foods for infants below 16 weeks of age and all population groups. Within the scope of the clinical research report, sodium starch succinate octenyl 1450 (E) use level (2725mg/kg body weight (bw) per day) in baby food under 16 weeks is safe, and there is no safety problem when used in food for babies and young children over 16 weeks.
